About Me

I'm Andrew Wilson and I have been playing guitar for 17 years and have been making my living with it for eight. I am a student of Berklee College of Music where so far, I have studied under Scotty Johnson and Steve Vai. I have been studying music for my entire life and actually started my musical journey with the viola, mostly because they didn't have guitar as an option in the orchestra at my elementary school and all the drum and sax spots were full!

In 2003, I went to pursue music as a teacher. I went to teach with 2-time Grammy nominee Trent Moody of the Moody Bros. at Lamon Studio of Music in Mint Hill, NC. In 2004, I fell more in love with music and dropped out of college to do music full time. Music sounded a lot more fun than pursuing a career in engineering. In 2006 and 2007, I played lead guitar for Finding Allison and Loosh in Charlotte doing mostly 80's covers. From October of 2007- January of 2009, I played acoustic guitar for local singer Meghan Tartamella.

I have been on staff at Mecklenburg Community Church since October of 2006 as Music Director, where I serve as lead guitarist every weekend.
